INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL

St. Columba’s College, Hazaribag

Introduction

Conforming to the National action plan of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, for evaluation, assessment, accreditation and quality up-gradation of Institutions of higher education, as per the dictates of NAAC every institution has to form an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality assurance measure. As quality improvement is a continuous process, IQAC will work towards realizing of the goals. The primary objective of the IQAC would be to expedite the progress of institution by developing a better system. By and large, the IQAC will mobilize the measures to achieve academic excellence.

  1. To develop ways and means for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

 

 

Functions of the IQAC

  1. Development and application of quality parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the college.
  2. Creation of a learner-centric environment conducive for quality education and faculty maturity.
  3. Making arrangements for feedback responses from students, parents on quality –related institutional process.
  4. Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education.
  5. Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars etc.
  6. Documentation of scholastic and non-scholastic activities.
  7. Activity as the main agency of the college for coordinating all activities.
  8. Preparing the college database.
  9. Preparing the Annual Quality Assurance report (AQAR) of the college in the prescribed NAAC format.
  10. Development of Quality Radars (QRs).
  11. In terms of UGC Regulations 2010, IQAC shall act as the Documentation and Record-keeping cell, including assistance in the development of the API criteria based performance Appraisal system (PBAS) proforma. Inorder to facilitate the process, it will arrange to receive the duly filled in PBAS proforma annually.
  12. Any other assignment from the Principal.

 

Follow-up:

  1. The AQAR shall be approved by the College Academic Council for further action.
  2. The AQAR should be submitted regularly to the Accreditation bodies.
  3. The AQAR and follow up reports of AQAR should be submitted to the UGC as and when asked for.
  4. The IQAC should create an exclusive window on its institutional website, to regularly report on its activities.
